Flyers Sweep Patriots and Eagles in Road Tri-Match

The Sandhills Community College volleyball team hit the road for a tri-match in Martinsville, VA, to take on Region 10 opponents Patrick & Henry Community College Patriots and Rockingham Community College Eagles at Patrick & Henry.

The Flyers had a dominant day, going 2-0 with two straight-set victories. In their first match, they swept the Patriots (25-9, 25-9, 25-19). They followed up with another sweep, defeating the Eagles (25-3, 25-8, 25-10).

Against the Patriots, the Flyers came out strong, quickly establishing an offensive clinic to take the first two sets with ease. The third set proved more competitive, but Sandhills remained composed, fighting off a late comeback attempt by Patrick & Henry to secure the win.

In the second match versus the Eagles, Sandhills maintained control early, building momentum with extended scoring runs that Rockingham couldn't counter. While the Eagles stayed competitive at moments, the Flyers never let up and finished the match decisively.

The Flyers improved to 25-4 overall and 6-0 in Region 10 play. They now prepare for a top-10 showdown at home on Monday night at 6 p.m. against Caldwell Tech Community College. During the game, Sandhills will be holding a collection of non-perishable items, canned foods, and water to support our neighbors in western North Carolina affected by Hurricane Helene.
