Flyers Dominate Guilford Tech in Straight-Set Victory

The Sandhills Community College Flyers swept Guilford Tech in straight sets on Thursday night, winning 3-0 in a commanding performance. The Flyers controlled the match from the start, taking the first set 25-13 before dominating the second and third sets 25-8 and 25-10. Haley Whitaker led the team with 5 kills and a .625 hitting percentage, while Kristin Dodds added 5 kills and 7.5 points. Caroline Bradford also contributed 4 kills, while Nikki Lambert was a key presence at the service line with 4 aces. The Flyers' defense was just as sharp, with Lainey Mullins leading the team in digs with 12 and Cassidy Jewett and Julia Porter contributing solid blocking. Sandhills finished with a total of 43 digs and 4 block assists, shutting down any offensive momentum from Guilford Tech. Sandhills improves to 13-4 on the season and will return home on Saturday, September 14th, for a doubleheader. The Flyers will open Region 10 play with Rockingham Community College at 11 a.m. and face Pitt Community College at 3 p.m. Both matches will be sponsored by The Door Specialist.
