Flyers Drop Pair at Home to Bulldogs

The Sandhills Community College beach volleyball team hosted Wingate University on March 4, 2025, with the Bulldogs securing victories in both contests.

In the first match, the Flyers picked up a win at the 3's pair, as Reagan Smith and Lainey Mullins defeated Alyssa Maragelis and P. Culbreth 21-10, 22-20. Sandhills also had a close battle at the 5's, where Julia Emore and Jacque Holden narrowly fell 21-19, 21-19. However, Wingate claimed the remaining matches for a 4-1 victory.

The second match saw Smith and Mullins rally for a 13-21, 21-11, 15-11 win at the 3's. Sandhills nearly forced a third match win, but the 4's pairing of Zoey Hall and Katelyn Bunting dropped a tight three-setter, 19-21, 21-14, 15-10, contributing to another 4-1 final in favor of the Bulldogs. 

The Flyers will be back in action on the road Friday at Spartanburg Methodist College, facing SMC at 12 p.m. before a 2 p.m. matchup with Salem College.
