Sandhills Community College Men's Golf Team "Tour for Four" in 2024

The Sandhills Community College Men's Golf Team, led by Coach Gus Ulrich, is on the verge of a historic finish to the 2024 season. With their sights set on a fourth consecutive National Championship, the Flyers are preparing for their 'Tour for Four '. Their past achievements, including three back-to-back National Championships, underscore their potential for another historic win.

The journey will conclude in Chautauqua, NY, from June 4-7, where the Flyers, led by Sophomore Ben Read, will face off against top competition from across the nation. Sandhills has shown remarkable consistency and skill throughout the season. Their first-place finishes at the Pfeiffer Falcon Shootout and the Don Scalf Memorial Tournaments demonstrated their dominance in the sport. 

What truly sets this team apart is its ability to compete at the highest level, even against tough competition. The Flyers' 2nd-place finishes at the Stitch Golf Invitational and Mercyhurst Shootout and an impressive 7th-place finish at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, competing as the only NJCAA Junior College in a field with 14 Division I NCAA teams. 

As the team returns to Pinehurst, NC, coinciding with the start of the 2024 US Open at Pinehurst No. 2, a palpable sense of anticipation and excitement fills the air. The Flyers have been on a journey, honing their skills and building chemistry as a team. Their dedication and hard work have brought them to the brink of history, and they are ready to make their mark on the 'Tour for Four. ' 

For the Sandhills Community College Men's Golf Team, the "Tour for Four" is not just about winning another championship; it's about leaving a legacy. It's about showcasing the strength of junior college athletics and proving that with determination and skill, anything is possible.
