Flyers Men in the Lead After Day One

Yesterday marked the opening round of the Pfeiffer Falcon Shootout golf event at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, NC. The Sandhills Community College Flyers took to the course alongside other collegiate teams. Ben Read and Watcharakan Chankarn both carded impressive rounds of even-par 72, positioning them in a tie for third place in the field. Teammates Daniel Aitken and Liam Harris also contributed solid scores of 74 each, placing them in a tie for ninth. As a team, Sandhills Community College leads a field of eight teams, with a score of +4.

After the first round of the golf tournament, Sandhills Community College leads with a score of +4 through 292 strokes. Following closely behind is Methodist University (B) at +8 with 296 strokes. In third place is Spartanburg Methodist Community College at +20 with 308 strokes. Pfeiffer University stands fourth at +24 with 312 strokes, while tied for fifth place are North Carolina Wesleyan and Belmont Abbey College (C) with +28 each, having scored 316 strokes. Greensboro (B) is in seventh place at +30 with 318 strokes, followed by Bluefield University at +36 with 324 strokes. Ferrum College ranks ninth at +52 with 340 strokes, and The Apprentice School closes the standings at +53 with 341 strokes.
