Flyers Wrap National Tournament With Sixth Place Finish
The Flyers wrapped the NJCAA national tournament and the 2016-17 Sandhills athletic season with a sixth place finish in the NJCAA National Tournament held in beautiful Chautauqua, NY. The sixth place finish marks the fifth time in as many seasons Gus Ulrich's squad has garnered a top-ten national finish including a National Championship and two runner-up finishes.
Leading the way for SCC was Freshman Evan Johnson (77-81-80-82, 320) earned a 24th place finish in the 92 man field. Sophomore Will Lewis (75-79-81-94, 329) and Freshman Gage Masters (80-88-81-80, 329) finished T41. Local product and Sophomore Josh Guy (82-83-87-80, 332) was just three strokes behind in a T48. Freshman Trent Waitley (83-83-83-86, 335) rounded out the SCC contingent.
