Johnson Paces Flyers in Spring Debut

Results

The Sandhills Community College men's golf team finished in seventh place at last weekend's Flyer Invitational held at the Country Club of Whispering Pines, Pines Course.

Leading the Flyers in their first event of the spring season was freshman Evan Johnson with scores of 79-80-159. He was followed by teammates Trent Waitley, 87-86-173, Gage Masters, 87-88-175 and Joshua Guy, 91-89-180.

Jack Corn of first place Spartanburg Methodist was the medalist with a 36-hole total of 148. The team scores were: Spartanburg Methodist, 604, N.C. Wesleyan, 616, Wake Tech, 644, St. Andrews B team, 665, Johnston CC, 665, Sandhills CC, 687, Central Carolina CC, 731 and Patrick Henry CC, no score.

Next Thursday the Flyers will host Lackawanna CC of Scranton, Pa. in a one day acrimmage event at Pinewild Country Club.
