The Flyers defeated Lorain County Community College in a hard-fought 87-80 win on Saturday before securing a convincing 93-61 victory over Bryant & Stratton on Sunday.
The Flyers, now 4-0 on the season, will return home to The Hangar on Wednesday to host City Tech at 7 p.m., followed by a road game against Catawba Valley Community College on Thursday.
Game 1 Recap
The Flyers and the Commodores battled back and forth early, with Sandhills turning a 19-15 lead into a 24-17 advantage. Lorain fought their way back, trimming the Flyers' lead to 24-23 and eventually taking a 25-24 lead with less than 10 minutes remaining in the half. However, Sandhills closed out the first half on top, holding a 38-31 lead at halftime.
Starting the second half strong, the Flyers extended their lead, but Lorain rallied to tie the game at 42-42. Sandhills regained control from there, pulling ahead for good and holding off a late comeback attempt by the Commodores.
Damian Robinson led the way with 16 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, and five blocks. Mylon Campbell added 13 points, six rebounds, and contributed an assist, block, and steal. Isaiah Upchurch finished with 13 points, four rebounds, and a steal, while Diamante Shepard contributed 12 points, four rebounds, and one assist.
Game 2 Recap
In the second game, the Flyers took charge early against the Bobcats, building a 47-24 lead by halftime and maintaining control to outscore the Bobcats 46-37 in the second half.
Robinson once again led the Flyers, recording 18 points, eight rebounds, and an assist. Antoine Piper followed with 17 points, five rebounds, one assist, and two steals. Nylikk Troutman rounded out the Flyers' top performers with 14 points, one rebound, two assists, one block, and four steals.
