USC Salkehatchie Uses the Three-ball to Turn Back the Flyers

The Sandhills Community College basketball team is off to an 0-2 start in the new year after dropping a 104-91 decision to USC-Salkehatchie on Tuesday afternoon in Allendale, SC.
An NJCAA Division I Indian's squad with only five players in uniform rose to the occasion, making 13 of its 28 three-point attempts to help maintain a comfortable lead throughout most of the game. The Flyers were an ice-cold 2-for-22 on shots taken from beyond the arc.
Ranked No. 14 in Division III this week, Coach Mike Apple's team takes a record of 10-6 into its Region 10 conference openers on Friday (5 p.m.) and Saturday (1 p.m.) at 9-3 Dabney S. Lancaster CC in Clifton Forge, VA.
In his second game back from a broken right-hand suffered in October, sophomore Bryan Quiller was 10-for-22 on shots from the field and led the Flyers with 23 points to go with 13 rebounds.
Also in double-figures for the Flyers were Joey McMullin with 14 points, Chris Hunter with 11 and Zac Sledge with 10. Keegan Brayboy was the leader in assists with six.
The Indians improved to 9-6. All five players scored in double figures led by Kailee White with 30 points.
