The Sandhills Community College basketball team improved to 8-4 on the season with a 115-79 victory over the Pfeiffer University junior varsity on Monday in Misenheimer.
The Flyers led 32-30 with just under six minutes remaining in the first half when a three by Sam Stoltz, and a pair of baskets by Darryl McCaster, sparked a 22-2 run that led to a 54-36 advantage at the intermission. Coach Mike Apple's squad stretched the margin to as many as 37 points in the second half.
Wednesday's scheduled home game against Lenoir CC has been postponed due to several members of the team contracting COVID. That means the Flyers will be idle until Wednesday, December 15 when they entertain Shooting For Greatness Academy at 7 p.m.

Stoltz was 3-for-3 on shots from beyond the arc and contributed 13 points. Other double-figure scorers were Nasir Johnson with 13, and Zac Sledge and Joey McMullin with 12 each.
The Flyers are ranked 12th in the NJCAA Division III poll released on Monday. Montgomery County CC, PA (12-0) moved into the No. 1 spot this week.
