Flyers Sweep Cougars
The Lady Flyers got back in the win column on Tuesday, taking down Central Carolina Community College through a 3-0 sweep. This matchup was the first of two between the 8th ranked Flyers and the Cougars, with the next meeting schedule for October 3rd in the Hangar.
Coming off of a 3-0 loss vs Caldwell Community College in a matchup of ranked teams, this victory puts the Flyers back on the right track.
The Flyers won each set comfortably, taking the first set 25-17, the second set 25-20, and the final set 25-15.
The team's kill leader was outside hitter Dajsha Fields with seven, while outside hitter Caroline Bradford followed her closely with six. Lainey Mullins led the team with 25 digs while Emma Brown had the most service aces with three. Lannah Honeycutt recorded the Flyers lone solo block.
The Flyers are back in action on Thursday, as they travel to Raleigh to take on the Wake Tech Eagles. The Flyers hope to even the season series between the two squads, as the first time the two teams met, the Eagles rallied from down 2-0 to take a 3-2 victory.
After a month with few games in the Hangar, the Flyers return home this Saturday, where they will host both Patrick and Henry Community College and USC Sumter, at 11:00am and 3:00pm respectively. This is the second time the Flyers will face both teams, taking both of the previous matches 3-0.
