Lady Flyers Access North Moore Pipeline Once Again to Sign Jordan Ward
Sandhills Community College volleyball coach Alicia Riggan has added to what is shaping up as a strong front line for next season with the recent signing of North Moore High School senior Jordan Ward.
The 5-foot-10 middle hitter is the daughter of David and Donna Ward and has a brother Bryson. She plans to pursue an Associates in Science degree at Sandhills and then transfer to a four-year university.
"Jordan is very coachable, she is a very smart volleyball player and always eager to learn something new," says North Moore coach Crystal Hicks who attended the signing along with the school's athletic director Bobby Collins, Riggan and Ward's parents. "She is an all-around awesome person on and off the court."
Sophomores Cheyenne Brown and Holly Martindale, and freshmen Paige Garner and Leah Salzwedel are other North Moore graduates who contributed to a successful 19-9 2016 season for the Lady Flyers. Riggan is also a North Moore grad.
"We are excited to have Jordan joining our Flyer Family," the Flyers' coach says. "I think her height and knowledge of the game will be a huge help to our front line for the fall season."
In addition to high school volleyball, Ward has played for the Tri-County and AC Sandhills travel teams. Her other school and community activities include Student Government Association (Vice President), Beta Club, FCA, Spanish Club, Mission Trip and Smyrna United Methodist Church Youth Group (Secretary).
