Flyers Comeback Bid Falls Just Short at Patrick and Henry

In an intense matchup at Patrick & Henry Community College, the Patrick & Henry Patriots secured a narrow 79-77 victory over the Sandhills Flyers on November 15, 2023.

The first half saw the Patriots take control, building a substantial 13-point lead with a halftime score of 50-37. John Maxwell, Anthony Wright, and Jaylen Faber led the charge for the home team, showcasing their offensive prowess.

However, the Flyers refused to back down. In the late stages of the second half, they mounted a comeback led by Ayden Gittens, who contributed an impressive 27 points for the game. Gittens was joined by Zach Riddle, who scored 12 points with efficient shooting, and Damien Robinson, who dominated the boards with 14 rebounds.

Sandhills made a significant push, cutting the deficit to just two points. In the closing moments the flyers had a chance to tie the game at 79 but a shot by McDougald rimmed out as time expired.

Despite their late surge, the Flyers fell just short of completing the comeback, and the Patrick & Henry Patriots held on for a hard-fought 79-77 victory.
