Lady Flyers' Ahing Tied for the Lead After Round One at Deercroft
Trinity Ahing of Sandhills Community College is tied for the lead after Monday's first round of the Dearcroft Spring Break Invitational held at Deercroft Golf Club in Wagram.
The Lady Flyers sophomore and Grace Doke of Eastern Florida State both posted 4-over par scores of 76. Ahing led the field with four birdies.
Elise Forberg of Georgia Military College and Jasmine Yang of Eastern Florida State are one stroke back, following rounds of 77 in the field of 35 golfers.
Also for the Flyers, sophomore Ava Ray is tied for 16th place after posting an 84. Sophomore teammate Scotty Foley is tied for 23rd place after a round of 90.
Ahing will be seeking her third individual title of the spring season when the players tee off for Tuesday's final round.
Sandhills Coach Herb Pike's squad does not have the four players required to compete for the team title. The first round leader of the tournament hosted by St. Andrews University is Eastern Florida State by 21 strokes over second place Georgia Military.
