Flyers Take Two in South Carolina

The Sandhills Community College Flyers had an impressive performance in two volleyball games this weekend at USC Lancaster. The Flyers opened the day taking on host USC Lancaster, securing a 3-1 victory. The Flyers displayed a well-rounded performance, excelling in both attack and defense. Caroline Bradford led the team with 9 kills, while Dajsha Fields contributed 8 kills. Cassidy Jewett added to the offensive prowess with 7 kills, while Lannah Huneycutt demonstrated her versatility with 5 kills, 12 assists, and 8 digs. Sydney Garner showcased her setting skills with 22 assists. The Flyers exhibited a strong blocking game with 8 blocks and managed to maintain control throughout the match.

In their second match of the day, Sandhills faced USC Union, emerging victorious with a clean sweep of 3-0. Cassidy Jewett stood out once again with 12 kills, while Dajsha Fields contributed 7. Sydney Garner provided steady support with 14 assists, and Lannah Huneycutt showcased her all-around skills with 5 kills, 5 assists, and 8 digs. The Flyers demonstrated their proficiency on both sides of the net, securing the win.

Looking ahead, the Sandhills Community College Flyers are gearing up for the Region 10 Tournament, scheduled to take place at Central Carolina Community College on Saturday, October 21st. The day will kick off with the Caldwell Community College and Technical Institute Cobras facing the host Central Carolina Cougars at 10 am. Following that, the Flyers will take the court against Patrick and Henry Community College at 12 pm. The winners of these two games will advance to the final at 2 pm to determine the Region 10 champion. The Region 10 champion will advance to the NJCAA Mid-Atlantic District Championship to play the champion of Region 20 for a spot in the NJCAA National Tournament.
