Lady Flyers Fall in Five to Hurricanes

The Sandhills Community College volleyball team was defeated 22-25, 25-22, 23-25, 26-24 and 8-15 at Louisburg College, Thursday evening.

The Lady Flyers dropped to 12-10 with the non-conference loss while the Hurricanes improved to 9-8.

Next is a Region 10 tri-match at The Hangar on Saturday (Camp Day) with the first place Lady Flyers taking on Rockingham CC at 11 a.m. and Southwest Virginia CC at 3 p.m.

Rockingham and Southwest Virginia face-off at 1 p.m.

Against a team they swept at The Hangar 12 days ago, the Lady Flyers overcame an 18-11 deficit in the fourth set to tie the match at 2-2 and force the 15-point tie-breaker.

But with the teams tied at 6-6, the Hurricanes scored nine of the next 11 points to close out the match.
