Lady Flyers Finish Seventh at BrownGolf Intercollegiate

The Sandhills Community College women's golf team finished in seventh place at the BrownGolf Intercollegiate held at Country Club of Whispering Pines last Friday and Saturday.

West Chester (PA) finished in first place by 18 strokes over runner-up Westminster College (UT) with scores of 331-323-654. The medalist was Sara Suazo of California University of Pennsylvania after rounds of 80-76-156.

The Lady Flyers were led by sophomore Danielle Mirovich who finished in a tie for 19th place after posting 94-82-176. Other results for Coach Herb Pike's squad included, freshman Morgan McRae, T-31, 96-91-187, freshman Taylor Pratte, 41st, 104-91-195 and sophomore Alicia Dunlap, 49th, 114-111-225.

The Flyers' No. 1 player, Shirley Ou, played only on Saturday and shot an 80.

The 10 teams came from seven different states and except for the Flyers were all from NCAA Division II colleges. The event was hosted by Mercyhurst College of Erie, PA.

Next for the Flyers is the Sunoco-Campbell Oil Classic on Monday and Tuesday at River Landing in Wallace, NC.
