Flyers Take Two in Spartanburg

The Sandhills Community College Flyers Beach Volleyball team soared to victory in a double-header against Spartanburg Methodist on Friday, April 5th, 2024. The Flyers claimed victory in both matches, each ending with a 3-2 scoreline in their favor.

In the first match, the Flyers battled their opponents fiercely. Lainey Mullins and Dajsha Fields fought valiantly but were narrowly edged out 2-0 by SMC 1's. Caroline Bradford and Emma Brown put up a spirited performance after dropping their first set by coming back to win set two forcing a third, but fell short against SMC 2's. Olivia Barlowe and Nikki Lambert secured a decisive victory, triumphing over SMC's 3's. With SMC forfeiting the 4's and 5's pairs, the Flyers clinched the win.

The Flyers replicated their success in the second match, with Barlowe and Lambert again securing the decisive victory. 

With the two wins at Spartanburg Methodist the Flyers push their season record to 8-10. With four matches remaining before the Region 10 tournament at Gaston College on Saturday April 20th. 

The Flyers prepare to defend their home turf in upcoming matches. On April 10th, 2024, they face Wake Tech in a double-header at 3pm and 5pm. Additionally, on Saturday April 13th, the Flyers celebrate Sophomore Day while hosting Spartanburg Methodist at 10am and Liberty University at 2pm. SMC will also square off against Liberty at 12pm, promising a day filled with thrilling volleyball action.
