Flyers Beach Welcomes Mia Sanchez-Hernandez

Sandhills Community College welcomes the newest addition to the Flyers beach volleyball team, Mia Sanchez-Hernandez.

Mia, a defensive specialist and outside hitter, hails from Jack Britt High School and has been playing volleyball for five years.

When asked about her decision to join SCC, Mia expressed that the welcoming and caring nature of the coaching staff played a significant role. The close proximity to her family and the desire to be part of the Flyers' volleyball "family" sealed the deal. Mia plans to major in Associates in Science at SCC.

Aside from volleyball, Mia has excelled in other sports, lettering in Track & Field and Cross Country. She is actively involved in the National Technical Honors Society, Total Image Club, and Honors Society, showcasing her dedication to both academics and community service.

Looking ahead to her time at SCC, Mia is eager to make new friendships, experience new challenges, and enhance her volleyball skills. Moreover, Flyers head coach Alicia Riggan expressed excitement about Mia joining the Flyers Beach Program, stating, "We are excited to have Mia join our Flyers Beach Program. She will be a great addition to the program."

The Sandhills Community College Flyers warmly welcome Mia Sanchez-Hernandez and look forward to an exciting and successful season ahead.
